9 Web Design and Development Trends to Watch Out for in 2018

Doing something online like creating a website is more about being interactive and something that ups the user experience.

And, with each passing day, more and more changes have become prominent and that designers as well as web development companies are willing to implement them on their sites.

So today, I am going to talk about the 9 web design and development trends to watch out for in 2018.

Being Playful Using Colors

Remember back in your early schooling days where you were asked to put colors on an object or a drawing? What do kids usually do when they’re given such a task? Well, they use colors that actually work, even though us adults would not dare use such color combinations.

Well, the idea in 2018 is to use those unorthodox color combinations to create something that is fresh and vibrant at the same time. For example, using a blue background with an orange-color text is something that is unusual, but it actually works.

The Rise of Organic Backgrounds

In the early days of the internet, most web designers just use plain colors as their background. Well, it does its job, but it is not really something that grabs the attention of most people.

Nowadays, things have changed in that more and more people are using “organic” backgrounds. This just means that the background now incorporates abstract design and shapes into the mix to create something that is aesthetically pleasing, while also subtle as well.

Single Page Websites Are Becoming the Norm

Websites usually have the homepage and users can then just go to specific pages if they want to by navigating through the menu bar and other subcategories.

That is, however, a thing of the past. More websites are incorporating a single-page design and the contents of their site are presented to the users in unique ways.

An example of this would be that a web page loads up and users can just navigate the website using the cards that are placed on the screen.

Transform Your Site Using Motion UI

Motion UI is just a library of tools wherein you could create animations for use on your website. The thing about this is that you can make objects and other graphical details come to life just by using the said interface.

Use of Blockchains

Originally intended for Bitcoin, blockchain allows you to share data, but only on a one-way street. This means that you can distribute information, however, that data cannot be copied by outside sources.

This is especially useful if you’re creating an e-commerce website as it can make things more secure for your clients.

Security is Definitely a Must

As attackers have improved their ways to intrude your privacy, online security is definitely a must now. By using Secure Socket Layer (SSL), the user’s data will be encrypted when establishing a connection with your server. Also, using such will give you the HTTPS badge, and thus, search engines will rank you higher for it.

Stop Using Texts for Content

Use photos and videos instead. There’s a saying, “a picture paints a thousand words.” You do not have to painstakingly create lengthy articles anymore. You can drive more traffic to your site by just carefully using photos and videos as your main content.

Better Programming Languages

HTML and Javascripts have been the de facto standard when it comes to coding for websites. The good thing is that both of them have improved vastly over the years. For example, you can now create Javascripts that are much more simplified and much harder for attackers to edit the code from a remote source. The good times of coding start today!

Implement an Online Customer Support

If your website is where you will conduct your business, then it is of great importance that you implement AI chatbots that will respond to your customers’ queries.

These chatbots are pre-programmed and they are designed to answer the most frequently asked questions; all while not sounding like a robot.
